Careful balance of costs
and benefits must be achieved where crossing of
cultural and geographic boundaries are involved.
This is often the case in planning, designing
and construction of bridges and tunnels. These
demand engineers’ skill in foresight, planning,
and designing the structures. Bridges stand as
witness to the designer's skill and finesse in
his professional competence. Planning and
designing of bridges and tunnels require
equitable appreciation of environmental aspects
of the proposed projects.
A number of bridges,
