| Husnain Lotia Director Architecture NDArch 32 husnain@eaworld.com Husnain Lotia, Architect, graduated in 1977 from the National College of Arts, Lahore. Starting his career with Bhamani associates, in 1979 he joined another premier architect, Habib Fida Ali, and, in four years there, was taken as Partner and stayed in that position in 1992. Husnain was in charge of large projects with the office, with special reference to Corporate Interior Designs. His experience here, focused on development and project management. In 1992, Husnain Lotia joined Nasir Lotia, to create the firm Lotia & Lotia, and then, from 1996 to 2007, practiced under his own name and very quickly acquired a respectable position in the local architectural scene. Fro 2001 to 2004, Husnain lived in Canada, where he dealt in property development. In 2007 Husnain joined EA Consulting Pvt Ltd as Director of Architecture and was tasked with establishing an architecture department in a primarily engineering firm. Today he leads the team for Architecture and Planning at EA. |
Husnain Lotia has also been fairly active in community service. He has taught Design over several semesters at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi and is a frequent visitor there as an external juror. He has served on various committees for the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners, as well as the Institute of Architects, Pakistan. He is also the co-author of the Town Planning and Building Regulations for the city of Karachi, 2000 and an active member of Shehri-CBE. Husnain is a core member of the Architects’ Committee striving for the establishment of Karachi Development & Planning Board for the Sind Government. He also represents the IAP on the High Rise Building Committee for the MPGO (Master Plan Group of Offices) of City District Government Karachi. He currently heads the IAP committee for the setting up of the Pakistan Green Buildings Council. Husnain also enjoys a keen interest in music, and hosts a weekly show on a local radio station. |

His twenty-two year work experience comprises of projects in the US, KSA, Singapore, UAE and Pakistan. Shahid became a part of EA team in 2004 as Principal MEP division. In 1999 Shahid established his design practice ‘S.Z. Consulting Engineers’, providing design services in HVAC and plumbing fields. Executive Engineer in Karachi Electric Supply Corporation in 1972.
