Zero Point Interchange
The Project includes various Ramps and Bridges of Zero Point location in Islamabad. Among various bridges a main span over Islamabad Expressway was initially designed by main Consultant as Cast-in-Place Box-Girder Bridge. The design scheme requires the closure of at least 2 lanes of Highway for a long period of time therefore not implemented. EA-Consulting was hired by the Contractor to propose an alternate option without comprising the Cost, Aesthetic and traffic hindrance for the Bridge.
EA proposed the Pre-cast Post-tensioned Box Beams with Live Load continuity as an alternate option for the 2-30m Span Bridge. During this design all the Sub-Structure were already casted therefore the design is also done by keeping in view the superstructure loads on Substructure.
