Design Review and Construction Supervision of Islamabad – Peshawar Motorway (M-1) 155 Km in Association with PMC; EA Section: 57 Km


This project is a part of a countrywide plan, conceived by Ministry of Communications, Government of Pakistan, which would eventually connect all the major towns of the country and also the Central Asian States, providing them access to the Arabian Sea ports. It is six-lane dual carriageway, limited access expressway catering to high speed travel, thus saving time and reducing wear and tear on the vehicles. A toll tax will have to be paid by the users but in the long run the motorway will result in considerable economy and increasing the volume of the national and international trade.

The Project Duration for the M-1 NHA (National Highway Authority) Project was from March 1998 to January 2007.

Construction Supervision of Lahore – Islamabad Motorway (M-2) Section-2 (Pindi Bhattian to Bhera: 95 Km)

The construction of 95 km long Section-2 of M-2 extending from Pindi Bhattian to Bhera was supervised by EAL. From Jandoke the alignment Motorway joins the Pindi Bhattian bypass upto and including the Talibwala Bridge over Chenab River. After passing Talibwala Bridge the new alignment runs abreast of the Lahore – Sarghoda road, it then runs close to Jalla Makhdum, Chak Miana upto the village Ghullapur from where it goes parallel to the Midh Ranja – Kot Monin road. An intersection will be constructed at Kot Momin. From the proposed interchange the alignment then passes Alam Chowk, Bhularwan and Bhera finishing at the Jehlum river bridge. This section includes 20 bridges, 2 interchanges at Pindi Bhattian and Kot Momin, 39 underpasses and 15 major drainage structures.

The Project Duration for the M-2 NHA (National Highway Authority) Project was from July 1992 to December 1997.
